80's Born/ 90's Baby

In light of a recent posting courtesy of Hypebeast a thought spawned in my mind. Not only are these a pretty hot pair of kicks but they embody a lot of what the 80's and 90's had to offer. Ironically they were inspired by the late 80's early 90's show "Yo MTV Raps".

They have color and flavor and whether or not you like them they have substance. You cant say that about music in the 21st century. Substance has to hunted by the consumer instead of being dished out by the artist. I saw a pretty funny flyer that sarcastically read "Souljah Boy is Real Hip-Hop." It was advertisement for an 80's party in which Slick Rick and Doug E. Fresh would be in attendence.

I guess all I'm really trying to say in spite of the strides that have been taken by artists like Kanye and N.E.R.D. (to name a few) is that we need to take it back to the late 80's early 90's substance wise. You know when Hip-Hop had that flavor.

P.S.- Craig I will bust your ass in 2K8 and madden just let me know when
