So the executive VP position over at Def Jam has been one of the most highly coveted positions in the industry lately. Since Kevin and Jay stepped down one man has took the reins and has really played his role. 
Meet Shakir Stewart who is not only the mastermind behind many of todays artists (Jeezy and Ne-Yo) to name a few, He is also a Morehouse Man.

He played a very important role in bringing both Ciara and Beyonce over to LaFace Records which may be why Jay wasnt hesitant to hand over the crown of being the face of Def Jam. (Just Speculation) Big ups to the brother. I hope I can intern one day !!!
