"This show is a gift... how you gonna tell somebody the gift they gave you is a B+"
So the Glow in the Dark tour came to ATL last night, and Quarter Hug representatives were front row for probably the best "concert" (not show, completely different vibe) i've been too. So instead of using blogs as a failed attempt at gaining cool points by talking shit in the AUC, were gonna give you the rundown.
Moms came through on the tickets, so we had front row seats and the "5 Star VIP Treatment Package", which basically amounted to nothing, but a good seat. One cool thing about the backstage tour was you got to see the actual creative input that goes into putting on a show like Glow in the Dark. Real talk, the visuals on this tour are incredible. So first up was Lupe, who had the shortest set unfortunately and didn't play much off of "Food and Liquor", but was heavy on The Cool. Next up was NERD, but only Pharrell came onstage. To make up for it, he brought a whole gang of niggas out which included Fiasco, Chris Brown, Bowwow, Musiq Soulchild, Jermaine Dupri, Rihanna's band, and some lame-ass twins from Danville, VA onstage with him to keep the crowd hype. Not to mention he had TWO drum sets! I overheard Pharrell telling Jermaine Dupri, "Chad couldn't make it, but the show still has to go on", not sure what that means, but they still had a great set with crazy energy, Chris Brown, and Bowwow (and who doesn't like that?).
I went to the bar Rihanna's whole set, so yea...
And Kanye killed it. The whole visual aesthetic of his set was dope. The live band was tight, and he gave crazy energy. Highlight songs were Through the Wire, Flashing Lights, All Falls Down, I Wonder, and Touch the Sky where Lupe came out and busted his ass on stage, but played it off pretty smoothly. Overall, a great night.
B+... just fuckin with ya.
