FUCK
After two weeks of bullshit and Wachovia trying to burn me... Im out of the negative. Wachovia screwed up my account and I somehow ended up owing them close to $700.00. Wachovia owes more than they are worth and most likely are going to file bankrupt sometime in the near future, thats why their trying to fuck people over right now. If you have Wachovia I suggest you withdraw everything and keep it moving.

CF
We met back in I believe the summer of 2006 from a mutual friend .
I was at Wendys with some friends and boog and my boyfriend picked me up and we were introduced. Now if you were to ask boog what happened on our car ride to Ritas he would say I was in the backseat dickeating on all the jokes he was making, but if I recall I was just laughing at his jokes because I thought they were funny. Either way after we hung out for the first time everything just went back to normal. Until one day boog started dating one of my friends which made our relationship a little closer just because he would ask me about her and I would ask him for advice about my boyfriend/his friend.
Unfortunately some relationships have to come to an end and around the same time both of our relationships ended and we both were left single, and still friends. In between time we always stayed connected and ended up realizing we had a lot in common and hung out a lot but always with other people never alone.
At one point he even considered us “special friends” .. Ask boog what that means because I never got it.
But through all of this there was never any connection. It was CLEAR however that boog liked me [was never pressed or hype, but liked me] but I never really liked him nor was I attracted to him. He was just always my “big homie” shout to mal lmao.
So I went on with my life he went on with his, we both had our “hook ups” and then finally during I believe it was Christmas break, boog came over so that we could make a cake from scratch for his mom. He tells me now that he would try to find any possible way to hang out with me, so I guess this was one of those occasions.
So before this like earlier in the week my girl, my love, the only other name I’ll write about on this post KALIA BAKER!! Was trying to convince me that I should talk to boog but I was still like “NO!”
So fast forward back to boog and me in my kitchen making this nasty cake ..

We would go to concerts together ..
we would go to gatherings together ..
and I was even boogs senior prom date aww!! ..

something FINALLY clicks in my mind that I liked him. I remember he was sitting in the black chair furthest from you in the picture and I was at the sink which is right behind that chair and I was looking at the back of his head like "omg I cant believe I finally see it, I think I really like him". Everything since then has been history, and my kitchen is now marked as the place that I fell in love with boogey!!
My point for writing this is mainly because boog will be turning 19, on Wednesday and besides all the wonderful things that I will be doing for him I wanted to make it a point to him and everyone else, that I will ride for him and be there for him till the very end no matter what the outcome is. Being so close to each other at college is not as easy as people may think .. besides people always saying “oh you just came down here for your boyfriend” and worrying that one day someone will say “oh I saw your man with ..” it can be very hard! There’s a lot that we have to be careful of.
At the end of the day however I did not come down here to be close to him and breath down his neck, I came down here to get a good education and get an experience of a lifetime by surrounding myself with other black people that are just as focused and determined as I am and breaking down these negative stereotypes that people put on young black people every single day.
Boogey I love you soo much!! You made it another year being and doing exactly what you should be and I could not be anymore thankful or proud to be your girlfriend. You have taught me so much without even knowing it, I look up to you and love every little thing about you. If anything you are my best friend, my homie, my nigga lol over my boyfriend which is why our relationship is the way it is. Every time I think of your parents I think of us because they did exactly what we are doing right now and look at the results, perfection. No matter how annoying I may get, how many arguments we have, ANY little boy that tries to interfere, etc. I will always be yours and we will always be chasing forever .. friend or lover.
HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY!!
Get ready for Wednesday =)
Love, my

I don't know alot about sneakers but I do know art
As part of Jimm Lasser's The Dunk on McCain exhibition which opened last night at the Tyson Space, the marquee piece was a specially created Obama Force One. The half-art piece, half sneaker features a unique sole which bears two different designs. The left shoe bears the statement, "A black man runs and a nation is behind him" while the right shoe features a shot of Barack Obama. The opening night included special prints created with the shoe soles for sale.

It's A Celebration Bitches
So I was def. supposed to post this Saturday b/c Friday night was epic but our homie Ja made his return to Atlanta and we had to celebrate (The first mini party at the new place was thrown haha) but that's another story. I've been telling alot of people about the great results from the Kevin Devine and Andy Hull concert and now I finally get a chance to blog about them.
The show started at about 9ish but b/c I originally missed the turn we ended up at the venue about 8:50 but still made it to the second row and I def. had the Bape bag packed wit The City Snapshot demos (The Bape bag means I'm at work lol). Warner was really excited the onl thing that would have made it better for him would have been if Dr. Lacey himself would have showed up. At 9:05 is when Andy Hull took the Stage.
What A Way To Go By Andy Hull from Waverly Watkins on Vimeo.
His whole set was themed around his concept album. It is a concept record focusing on a 1600's sailor at sea for 3 years. Each song being a journal entry to his family at home or his captain. Hmmm sounds similar to The City Snapshot concept huh? I'll get to that. Andy was actually pretty funny, I enjoyed Manchester Orchestra live when we saw them 2 years ago but Hull did a great job without his backing band as well.
After Hull's 10 songs came Kevin Devine, to be honest he was my highlight of the night. Kevin was funny he talked to the crowd. At one point he announced he was from Brooklyn and I made a comment about the Knicks which he responded to on the microphone lol. After about the third song is when the night really got fun. Being one of the two black people at indie rock shows usually I really believe that it helps when networking opportunities become available. As Kevin was tuning hs guitar for another song he quoted a Jay-z song and then asked the crowd if he said it right, I don't think he was expecting an answer but when I filled in the rest of the line for him he loved it. Warner smiled with joy lol.

After Kevin's set was done he announced that he would be signing autographs and taking pictures at the merchandise table. This is when prob. the greatest events in The City Snapshot history took place. (I forgot to put this but as we entered the venue the doorman and the club owner bot took demos and are on their way to becoming fans). As Warner and I waited in line to talk to Kevin, guess who comes from backstage to talk and says that he remembers seeing us two yers ago and chatted with us about Alligator Adventure and Brian Lane from Brand New (Long Story), Mr. Andy Hull. Warner actually sparked a convo with him that resulted in the exchange of a demo and a great conversation, I'm assured good things will be in store for the future but we don't post things like that on blog lol. Here's some pics and a video convo of Warner passing Andy the demo.

After about another 15 minutes Kevin Devine was sitting in the corner and we approached him. The first thing Kevin said to me was "Wow, in response to my sneakers for the night" (Note: When trying to impress don't wear dress shoes and a suit, wear sneakers, seriously every major meeting I've had I've worn sneakers and they really are a conversation starter). When Kevin asked where could he grab a pair Warner told him about them and actually he's suppose to be sending Kev a pair of Supras now actually. (Yea :P) After the sneaker talk was over Warner gave Kevin the same spill about the album, Kevin was really impressed and exchanged e-mails with us and even took pictures like the one posted below. All in All it was an AMAZING night. There will be more on the way from The City Snap Shot, Andy Hul, and Kevin Devine to say the least and all in all I'm really proud of Warner as a child I know most boys always dream of playing basketball with Jordan, Kobe, or LeBron but now he might actually have an opportunity to play with some of his favorite bands, that's good shit. And I would make a post about Saturday but umm yea, that's just not needed right now, but hey Ja's back lol.
