November 4th, 2008 will forever be the most monumental event in the history of a nation and the world. For the first time in eternity a black man of creed, character and great intellect commanded the attention of a people and the respect of the world. Barack Hussein Obama has transcended what it means to lead people. Not only has he reached the goal and hope of a nation, he has commanded that a people hold them selves responsible for the well being of a nation.
Some feel this achievement is long overdue. Others however, feel that the predicament that the country is in will put to much pressure on Mr. Obama. With two wars and an economy that has been the worse since the 30’s, to say that work needs to be done is an understatement.
With that being the overtone of the election, the outcome was by far the most memorable in history. Seeing students from all over the nation and world come together in tears of joy is something that will only be experienced once in a lifetime. To see people pull together for a cause that is greater than man himself cannot be predicted in any other movement again.
Barack is almost like a prophet speaking light into a nation that, for the last eight years, has been consumed in darkness. He is human and he wont be perfect. This election however, has made many realize that in spite of the trials and tribulations one may have going on, there is always someone whose achievements can serve as motivation for us to do better. A higher standard was put in place during this election and somehow people all over the nation have a higher sense of obligation not only to self advancement but to the advancement of others.
